I've been coming to Spiritleaf Stittsville almost every week for the past two years and have always had a great experience. The staff have generally been friendly, helpful, and happy to suggest products based on what I'm looking for. That's one of the reasons I kept coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was completely different. I came to the store with a friend and was asked for ID by the employee in the vestibule. That's completely fair and I understand it's the law. Unfortunately, I had left my wallet at home, so I asked whether I could show proof online since I'm a regular customer. He said no, which I accepted. I then told my friend to go inside and buy the product while I stayed outside. The employee was right there when I told my friend exactly which product I wanted. A few moments later, I remembered another product I wanted and thought I would ask whether my customer account with the store could help verify who I am. I stepped in and simply asked, "Bro, I have an account here, would that help?" Before I could even have a conversation, the employee aggressively told me to get out. I tried to explain that I was only asking a question, but he started repeatedly yelling "Get out! Get out!" while still talking on the phone. I honestly felt shocked and embarrassed. I wasn't arguing, causing a disturbance, or refusing to leave. I was just asking a question. What upset me wasn't being denied entry because I didn't have my ID. I fully respect that policy. What upset me was the way I was treated. After being a loyal customer for two years, I felt like I was being treated as though I had done something wrong simply for asking a question. One thing that also left me confused was the inconsistency of the situation. I was refused entry because I could not produce physical ID, which I understand and respect. However, immediately afterward, I told my friend in front of the employee which product I wanted, and my friend was allowed to enter and make the purchase while I remained outside. If the concern was genuinely that my age could not be verified, then I found it confusing that a purchase connected to me appeared to be allowed to proceed through my friend. I am not an expert on the regulations, but the situation seemed inconsistent and left me unsure about what policy was actually being enforced. When my friend came out after making his purchase, he told me he had never seen anyone treated that way in Stittsville. He even commented that he wondered whether I would have been spoken to the same way if I were white. I don't know whether that's true or not, and I can't speak to the employee's intentions, but hearing that comment and thinking back on the interaction made the whole experience feel even worse. I have always liked this store and the people who work here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I don't expect special treatment, and I fully understand the importance of checking ID. I simply expect to be treated with the same basic respect that any customer deserves. I hope management looks into this because no customer should be spoken to that way for asking a simple question.
Purchased a product on December 3rd tried to return product 9 days later as the product was defective and the customer service would not exchange for a replacement even though there warranty is two weeks and still valid. The store would only sell me a replacement at 15% off. The same discount offered to anyone in the store that day. Bad customer service and junk products.
Always a super chill and helpful experience. I’ve been to other shops in the area where the staff didn’t feel very welcoming, but here it’s the complete opposite. No matter who’s working, you’re always greeted warmly, and they’re great at tailoring recommendations to your needs. Plus sometimes they give free stuff too which is always a bonus
Amazing experience! This was my first time ordering online and it was super easy, great variety! Loved the prompt text message communications that my order was received and one when my order was ready for pick up. Picking up curbside was quick and seamless. Someone came out as soon as I walked up. Great people here! So happy to have this gem of a store so close 👍🏼👏🏼
Absolutely love this location! The staff are always super friendly and ready to help if you have any questions. If you go to Spiritleaf Stittsville I am sure you will become a return customer not only because of their fair pricing, but because their staff always go above and beyond for their customers! Highly recommend if you are looking for a reliable dispensary with great selection, pricing and staff.
