How we came to be a client of Raymond's Body Shop is a bit of a circuitous journey
Recently, our car had a "minor" disagreement with a concrete wall. We didn't consider the damage that serious. With no intentions of involving our insurance, we were knocked off our feet
So, we went to the dealership to see if we could buy some paint, and just spray over the damage. However, it turns out the dealership only sells small bottles (like the ones for models) of paint for spot touch up. They sent us to Canadian Tire for spray paint
Turns out, however, our car is too old (2018), and CT no longer carries our colour. Not a problem though. They directed us to go to MPS Metro Automotive & Industrial because they are able to custom mix any colour
At MPS, they acknowledged that, yes, they can mix the colour we needed, but, after having a look at what we wanted to do, they were reluctant to sell us the paint; stating that it was highly unlikely that we would ever be able to finish the paint cover up satisfactorily. They were concerned that we would be unhappy with the results and blame them
So, instead, they recommended that I take the car to Raymond's Body Shop, which I did
Going over there right away, Sang had a look at the extent of the damage and gave me a verbal quote right away. Agreeing to the amount we shook on the price and set a time to return -- the following morning between 9:30 and 10:00 (so that we could avoid traffic by arriving after rush hour). Plus, where Sang said he needed two days to complete the job, getting it in early enough in the morning meant that he MIGHT be able to have the work completed and the car ready to pick up later in the day that second day, rather than only being able to get it the following morning
As predicted, the car was ready mid-afternoon the second day. The repair was terrific. Very well done
As Sang began to prepare a receipt, it quickly became apparent that there was a misunderstanding about the quoted price. Possibly because of Sang's accent, or possibly because of my hearing; I had thought the agreed price was more than twice the amount stated on the receipt
Being the man of integrity, and honour Sang is, he did not take advantage of this possible opportunity. He stuck with the original price HE quoted
The result: a great repair for a great price
Sang is a very friendly gentleman; very easy to get along with. Plus, of course, he's very good at his repair work
One detail to note: if you've never been to Raymond's Body Shop before, and you are turning onto Cambridge from Gladstone; be aware that the shop is set well back from the street on the east side. The entrance is very shortly after you turn onto Cambridge and is semi-hidden between the trees
Finally, payment: Sang accepts E-Transfers (with a fee) and cash. I never asked whether he accepts debit or credit
Do I recommend Raymond's: ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY

have Resided in Ottawa my entire life. I will always help a Small Business if they offer great service, with top quality work!!
Thats what Raymond does for his customers!! A VERY Skilled Body Shop Technician, with a very kind demeanour.
Upon meeting him, he made me feel welcome, and answered any and all concerns I had to move forward with repairs, at a price point that cannot be matched anywhere in the city.
And now that I have seen the work he has done to restore my 2023 Toyota Corolla, itโs as though my accident has never happened.
DO NOT look elsewhere, he is who you need to take care of your vehicle.
I will send anyone that I know if they have any body work needed to be done.
Thank you Raymond!

Honest, old school shop in the middle of the city. I've had Sang do a few jobs on different cars over the years. He provides verbal quotes right away, honours his prices, and consistently delivers quality work at reasonable prices. He's also one of the few shops in town that does rust repair.
His 26 years of experience running a small independent shop means he's often booked a few weeks out. That's usually a good sign.
Although needing body work isn't a fun part of car ownership, Raymond's Body Shop makes it less painful. Next time I need some, I'll be back.

I had an excellent experience with this body shop. The work was done professionally, quickly, and at the most affordable price I could find. My car looks perfect. Iโm extremely happy with the result and truly appreciate the respectful and honest service I received. I owe a lot to this hardworking man for taking care of my car the right way. Highly recommended.

Severe rust on my rear wheel arch and some other car body and paintwork issues โ Sam brought it back to life. Skilled, honest, and meticulous, he delivered results that exceeded my expectations. If you need repairs or paintwork done right, this is certainly the place to go!!
