We had the pleasure of working with Michael, a fantastic plumber who helped us unclog the main line in our basement. As first-time homeowners, we were a bit stressed about the situation, but Michael was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He took the time to explain everything, answered all of our questions, and made sure the job was done right. Highly recommend his services if you need a reliable and skilled plumber!
UPDATE: The company reached out to me and provided me the refund of my $90. As I am happy about this, it was still a difficult process. I’ll change my 1 star rating to a 2 now because the repair was done easy and quick but I wish I didn’t have to write a bad review to get money I was promised back originally. Nonetheless, I appreciate the company for taking the feedback and doing what was right in the end. Backstory: I called because I had an issue with my sink leaking. The guys who came to fix the sink were lovely and fixed my problem quite quickly. The issue was I told I would be refunded the dispatch fee of $79+ tax which came out to $90 if I decided to do the repair on site. The repair itself was $284, I said it’s fine and they fixed it right away- no complaints on the repair itself. I had been waiting for my refund since March 13. I called them today, only to be told that I won’t be getting a refund. I asked 3 times to clarify I would be getting a refund of $90 and I would only be charged the $284 and the plumber also confirmed yes before I signed the documentation. So it was difficult for me to let this go. Do what you will with this review.
While i was very disappointed with the service below, I will give credit to Mr Rooter for refunding me the dispatch fee after I described my issue. I will change my rating from 1 star to 2 stars, The recent service call was extremely disappointing. I was aware that there would be a dispatch fee. I also had an expectation that some value would be provided at the initial inspection. The technician asked me who the manufacture of the shower cartridge was despite the fact I had already provided this information to the dispatcher. When I gave him the name of the manufacturer he said he had no idea what part was required and that I should call the manufacturer to find out. He provided us with 3 estimates of options to resolve the problem. One of these estimates required me to obtain the part. So, in essence, I paid $90 to Mr Rooter to be told I was responsible to find out what part was required and to obtain the part. There is no value here. When I asked the technician to remove a screw for the fixture I was told that there would be a $383 charge to do so. Mr Rooter is very efficient in providing invoices and even asked me to pay the dispatch fee prior to the technician arriving. I am happy to share my experience with Mr Rooter and will advise anyone who asks not to use Mr Rooter's services.
