This is my first time calling a plumber due to an emergency fix that was required for a leaking tap. The customer service was great when I called in to handle my request. Nice lady answering the line and checking if there were available time slots in the next few hours or so.
Darius was great in handling the request and communicated with me and providing multiple options to the lowest and to the highest costs associated with the request as I needed a replacement sink faucet that was purchased by Darius at the supply warehouse as I needed one supplied to me (at my cost). Also a shut off valve for the hot and cold water was installed as well due to the age of the home when the code didn’t exist in the past.
It was fun chatting with Darius as we had a lot in common such as hobbies. He is a real guy and down to earth. Definitely would recommend Darius for your plumbing and other needs based on his current skill-set.
The website for John The Plumber is really easy to navigate and is really up-to-date and there is definitely investment by the owner to stay competitive. It was the first search option that came up and decided to blindly go with this company without much research and the expectation was met. I will definitely use it in the future if I have any plumbing or related emergencies.

Before getting into the negative stuff, I’ll say that the plumber that came to sort out my issue was fantastic. Cory was highly professional, friendly, and stuck with a difficult job until it was done. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with him and I’d gladly have him do work in my place again. His demeanour and friendliness made a bad Sunday morning plumbing problem a lot more manageable. He was also able to negotiate a small discount for me and I was very grateful for that
However, the company’s billing practices and post-job customer service was where I encountered issues.
- John the Plumber claims to offer flat rate pricing. In my experience, this didn’t happen. I ended up paying nearly $500 more than I was initially quoted because the job took too long and the plumber needed to go rent extra tools (as the company failed to send the guy out with what he needed for the job). So beware of this, they may charge you more than initially quoted (despite advertising otherwise).
- When I reached out to their customer service representative to express my concerns about the extra charges, they seemingly tried to blame the plumber and had him call me after claiming that I “had an issue with the work performed.” I had to explain to him that his work wasn’t the issue, and then had to follow up again with customer service to explain my concerns for a second time. I can appreciate the desire for individual employees to own their work and be accountable for it, but in my case I quite clearly explained that my concern was with billing, not with the work performed.
Overall, the work I needed done was performed well and I appreciate the hard work put in by the plumber on a Sunday morning. But the company’s business practices left a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn’t recommend their services. If you claim to offer “flat rates” but then charge extra, then you’re not offering a flat rate.

The total experience with John The Plumber was extraordinary. From the initial emergency call at 4:45pm on a Friday, to the plumber assigned calling, setting up a time, arrival, diagnosis and the required work was quick, efficient, personable and amazing. Darius, the assigned plumber was super friendly, helpful and communicative in every respect while the work was being completed. I had a very old pipe system and a very old valve that needed replacing. And even though the work took additional time on a Friday night, the pipes were difficult to fit and Darius had other jobs awaiting him…. He approached all conversation with care, explanation and friendly banter. He took time. He really did make a stressful situation 20 times better. A great young man. He even followed up via phone call after he had left to ensure everything was working accordingly.
Super impressed with the quick, friendly service and will recommend John the Plumber to anyone in a situation. Thanks Darius!!

I had a leak where my main stack met the pipe that ran under the concrete slab of my house. Bill, Connor, Matt and Max from John the plumber came over to assess the issue and complete the repair.
I was very pleased with the work that they did. There was a minimal amount of mess left over and the team completed the work in a timely and efficient manner.
I'll be calling John the Plumber and requesting Bill to come over if I ever have any plumbing needs in the future.

The plumbers and dispatch team were pleasant and helpful. I was pleased that the service met my expectation of being completed the same day I called in.
Dawson was assigned to do my service call. I was called in advance of his arrival, and he was on time.
Dawson is presentable, professional, friendly, and courteous.
He is not only a great plumber, but is also an excellent representative of your service staff
I had called about a clogged kitchen sink. The existence of the clog was fairly self-evident, and I was very pleased that Dawson did not try to up-sell me on the work. Up-selling is a tactic that some companies attempt, and that only ensures that I would never try them again. Dawson kept the whole thing friendly, straightforward and factual.

After checking the issue, Dawson reviewed 3 options with me so that I could choose the path forward.
