My wife and I happened to stop by Hewler Auto on our way to Montreal to look at purchasing a car, and meeting Abou ended up being one of those rare experiences that restores your faith in people. From the start, Abou was honest, genuine, and straightforward. There was none of the typical dealership pressure or sales gimmicks—just transparency, patience, and a real willingness to help. We were able to make a deal and planned to return the following week. Then life threw us a curveball. The car we arrived in suffered a completely destroyed serpentine belt—right there. Honestly, it almost felt like divine intervention that it happened at Hewler Auto of all places. Abou and his son absolutely came through for us. They quickly ordered the parts, installed everything, and completely saved the day. On top of that, they were more than fair with pricing. In a situation where many places could have taken advantage of us, they did the exact opposite. My only regret is that they’re located 4 hours away from where we live. I genuinely wish there were more people like Abou—that’s how much I appreciate the way he treated us. If I ever buy another car, I would gladly make the trip back. I would recommend anyone looking to buy or service a vehicle to go to Hewler Auto. Good people like this are hard to find.
I had an excellent experience with Mr. Abu Bakr Ismail at Hewler Auto. In 2025, I purchased two vehicles from him and I have been very satisfied with both. He was honest and transparent throughout the process. He ensured that necessary repairs were completed before the sale, and the pricing was very reasonable. Since the purchase, I have returned to him once for mechanical work, and he provided reliable service at competitive and discounted rates. Abu Bakr is trustworthy, professional, and genuinely cares about his customers. That level of honesty is exactly what you want in a dealer.
These guys were my go to mechanics until they made a very ridiculous mistake that could have cost me my life. I bought my first car and had them pre inspect it, they informed me on all that needed to be done to the car in order for it to pass safety. Part of this was a replacing of the back tires only as they told me the front ones were fine. Keep in mind the car had 4 sets of ALL SEASON TIRES INITIALLY, and also keep in mind this was November (winter season) The mechanics ended up ordering 2 winter tires and put the 2 good tires in the back of the vehicle and installed the winter tires they ordered in the front. At no point was it decided to me that I had 2 different sets of tires on my car. Many mechanics have told me that’s just common courtesy and menu mechanics have also told me that’s you should NEVER DO THAT, especially during winter season. I have been informed that it was common practice and standard that all tires should match. This was my first car, I didn’t know that I was driving around with mismatched tires and on a snowy day my car ended up skidding doing a complete 180 into the opposite lane. Keep in mind this was in Carleton university and I was going very slow, because of how steep the turn was. Once i realized that the cause of this was because my mechanic let me leave the shop with 2 mismatched tires i called him. Not once did he take accountability, all he did was deflect, tried to put the blame on me, implying I didn’t ask, implying I must have been going fast when I skidded, saying there could be multiple reasons for the skidding, implying that it typically isn’t a big deal if I have one set of winter and one set of all seasons on. Outside of me skidding and doing a complete 180 I noticed the car slipping way too much and because it’s my first car I thought this is just something that happens during wintertime. His resolution for this was for me To come back in the shop and they can help me out on price for 2 new winter tires for the back, Making it seem like he’s doing me some kind of favour and my frustration is either displaced or unwarranted. Very disappointed in this situation, as mechanics this is just not right in the slightest and this could have ended very bad for me if a car happened to be coming when my car skidded into a 180. I will not be going to This shop again in my life, you can keep your pathetic discount. Do better. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Great place to buy a car. Sales are not pushy and staff provide very respectful customer service. Other customers in the waiting room raved about the garage service too. Good experience here. Will refer and recommend this place to friends and family.
