After my furnace was red-tagged by Stans due to a cracked heat exchanger, I started calling around to get quotes. Francis stood out right away. They sent someone out that same evening—after hours—to go over my options. Shelley, the sales associate, was great to work with. She was knowledgeable, transparent, and—most importantly—open to talking price. Out of the four quotes I got, Francis not only matched the competition but beat them by a significant margin. On installation day, they gave me a heads-up when the techs were on the way, which I really appreciated. Jeremy and Ian handled the install, and both were excellent, but Ian especially stood out. He clearly had a lot of experience and took the time to inventory all of my HVAC equipment for future service calls. There was a slight issue with how the venting was set up, and Ian walked me through the fix in a really clear, professional way. He was very patient with all my technical questions and explained everything thoroughly. What really gave me peace of mind was when Ian showed me the heat exchanger on the old unit and pointed out exactly what had failed. I’d done my research, so it was reassuring to see firsthand that I was making the right decision. They left everything spotless. If you’re going with Francis for a furnace install, definitely ask for Ian—he made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. As for the negatives, I did feel like the sales associate engaged in moderate high-pressure sales tactics by creating a sense of urgency. There was some suggestion that their offer would expire unless I signed right away. That being said, I took my time and nothing came of it. To be fair, all the sales associates I spoke with did the same and Francis wasn't nearly as bad as the others. Some general thoughts. I ended up going with a Tempstar furnace. I highly recommend you do your research on brands. Many brands are owned by the same companies, use the same parts, and come off the same production lines. The only difference appears to be the badge on the appliance. All that to say, specs being equal, it's not clear why familiar brands like Lennox, Bryant or Carrier are priced multiple times higher than, for example, Tempstar. I think the most important thing is to make sure the product offers a 10-year parts and labour warranty and a 20-year warranty on the heat exchanger. Be wary of companies and /or sales associates that call certain brands "knock-offs"--they are not competing on the merits.
I needed a new central air unit and hot water tank so I called Francis Plumbing Heating and Cooling. Shelley came to my home the same day and ran through my options and cost. When we agreed to the price, Shelley arranged the install within 48 hours. Shelley was very professional and on point. Very pleasant to deal with. The morning of the install I received an email and text telling me the technicians were on their way. Erynn and Kyle arrived right on time and worked non-stop for over 4 hours and did an amazing job. The hot water tank looks great and the central air unit is ready to go when needed in a month or so. I highly recommend Francis Plumbing Heating and Cooling to anyone that needs HVAC work done. After the summer is over I will be calling them again to replace my old furnace. Job well done .👍
