I got my nails removed yesterday from here. And they did manicure as well without asking me( it could be a miscommunication as the lady doesn’t speak english) but this is my nails looking like today. It’s horrible! And there were some cuts on the cuticles which hurts too. Worst experience ever!

Worst nail salon I’ve ever been too in ottawa. I really tried giving them the benefit of the doubt but seriously… they were rushing to get them done. At first they didn’t even cut my cuticles until I said cut my cuticles. And the lady had an attitude about it. As you can see in the pictures she cut me in 2 different places and the one place where she cut me wouldn’t stop bleeding because of how deep she cut it and she poured this green stuff on my nail and it burned me so badly that my finger didn’t stop hurting for the whole time. As she was putting the Acrylic on she was missing a lot of spots on the top and I kept tell her to fix it and add more. She also didn’t file my nails after to even get a nice shape and make them smooth. They are bumpy from not filing them with the machine and only using a hand file to quickly brush over the top of them. I told them I didn’t like my nails multiple times while she was doing them and just proceeds to speak in her language to her colleagues and ignore me. Thanks for the horrible service. It’s truly amazing how people actually have “ good experiences with this place” I’ve never been treated so worst at a nail salon and had the worst time.

Great little salon near Carleton University. Went twice and both times I was treated very well. I got a fresh set and then a fill, both done very well. They did the job well and my nails looked great. I didn’t get any designs, so I cannot speak on that. The ombré was a fill and the red was a fresh set.

During my time in Ottawa, I almost exclusively went to DK Nails for my manicures & pedicures. The staff are extremely friendly, and they have a broad range of services for nails, including shellac, dipping powder, and acrylic in addition to regular polish.
They are quick and have a huge colour selection for all products, ranging from the traditional to the sparkly and fluorescent colours!! I often asked for interesting designs (ombrés, marbling, Chrome, holiday nail art, gemstones, etc!) and if I came in with a photo or an idea, I always left satisfied!
Prior to the pandemic, I was always impressed with their cleanliness. With the new protocols during the pandemic, they continue to impress with their attention to the health and safety of their clients. Dan and Kim ensure that their staff are super diligent at checking temperatures, recording your information, wearing masks, and keeping space between patrons. They now have individual tools for each customer to help minimize the risks.
For three years until I recently moved, DK nails has been my choice of nail salon! Mira, Van, Elly, Kim, Dan and the rest of the crew are always so great. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to give them a try.
