This is a small restaurant but hidden inside of the hallway beside speedy auto on Merivale, first time got there, the restaurant owner(I think?) was very friendly and helping us to get what we wanted and also it was very quick fresh baked even we ordered from the store within 15 mins. Now.. when I had a bite when I got home I called this is really pizza, we ordered a large Hawaii pizza and wings, they are so delicious and I can’t stop thinking going back again. Really deserves to try. And definitely will come back again!

Have been ordering for years! They never disappoint today was no different! Great service over the phone and driver is awesome always very friendly! Ordered L Pepperoni and L Pep onion green peppers! Don’t forget the homemade garlic dip! I also love the Veggie! Great spot!

The restaurant was very are to find down a dark alley with no lit up signage. We ordered a medium pizza with 3 toppings (pepperoni mushroom onion). He repeated it over the phone. The receipt had the correct ingredients. I got an all meat pizza instead. How hard is it to follow simple instructions... wings were black old and dry.

Never been here or try their delicious pizza! YouTuber, Moe Sargi explained on his recent video that his father and uncle run the business and make the best homemade garlic sauce from scratch. They don’t buy it. 10/10 should check them for yourself.

First, I should explain that this review takes place over 3 different incidents (over the past 2 years). These are the only times we’ve ordered with Merivale Pizza ….each time hoping the reasons for the previous issue(s) would have been resolved. Sadly this is not the case. Their customer service is shoddy & next to non-existent.
I live in close proximity so I’ve really wanted to give this business the benefit of the doubt in the hope that these incidents have been the result of what has happened to so many restaurants in the Ottawa area since the pandemic. Let’s face it, finding experienced, affordable staff Is next to impossible In the Restaurant industry. Yet that does not excuse the fact nothing was ever done when major mistakes were made; no one reached out to apologize, no credit was offered, no one followed up to find out how they could improve these errors & we were never offered any form of compensation in the hopes of retaining our business.
The first incident occurred when I ordered dinner on a Thursday night (in the winter) using their online ordering system. I was specific about the instructions as I was walking there with my dog to pick up the food and would be paying cash for the order. After walking my dog (for 45 minutes) I arrived at Merivale Pizza to pick up my food but they never received my order. I actually felt empathy for the owner as he said this had happened to him a couple of times that night. Okay …technical glitches happen and he said he would make it asap. So I paid for the order & asked him when I should return for pick up. He told me 15-20 minutes. 20 minutes later (when I returned), my order it still wasn’t ready (it was a small pizza & a hot hamburger) so I asked him to have it delivered since I had already been outside with my dog for over an hour and still had to walk home. Also , I only brought enough cash to pay for the order (and leave a tip) He actually refused and said he needed the $5 for the delivery. In the end my order took almost another hour and I was walking around with my dog until it was ready. The owner would not pay to have somebody to deliver it to my house. Him wanting to charge me the $5 to have it delivered left a bad taste in my mouth considering this was an error on Merivale Pizza’s end but I waited, then walked home with my food.
I didn’t order from them again for almost a year. Others in my household, wanted me to get pizza and we gave it a try. The order had three things ( 2 pizzas & hot hamburger) but when it got delivered one pizza was missing so the driver apologized and went back to the store to figure out what happened. The driver came back in 15 minutes with what we thought was our missing food . Upon opening the forgotten item we discovered this was not our order and we had to contact Merivale Pizza again. A different driver finally delivered us the proper food. This took about 45 minutes and we were not happy but again …mistakes happen. We did not order with them again until Friday April 10th. This order consisted of two small pizzas and one cold sub. When they delivered this order the driver just brought the two pizzas. He actually try to argue with me and say the sub wasn’t on the bill.* sigh So I grabbed my phone & showed him the screenshot…he then re-read the bill. He said ‘Oh yes I’ll go get it, sorry’.
So off he went to get the missing sub. This was supposed to be a cold turkey and ham sub. Well, it was not cold …it was warm and mush! So much garlic sauce that the lettuce was wilted and wet. It was the most disgusting sub I’d ever seen & would not eat such a foul sandwich. The sub only cost about $12 or $13 so it just wasn’t worth a hassle to call them again. At this point I feel nothing would be accomplished by calling them anyway so why bother? Lastly, I did take a picture, but I highly doubt anyone affiliated with this business even cares. 4 adults live in our home and none of us will ever order from MP again or will recommend it to others.
