I could not recommend this place less. They showed up to my house to provide a quote for a leaking sink. My wife and toddler son were home and they quoted $800. My wife agrees and texted me the price. I immediately called her and asked to speak with the technician. Shocked at the price, I inquired why it was so expensive and asked what parts needed replacing. He advised that we needed one new kitchen sink basket but it was best to install two new ones. While on the line I googled the price of the parts which came back at $15-45 max. I asked how long the installation would take he responded it would be approximately 1 hour. So he wanted to charge me $800 for 1 hour of labour and two cheap parts. I called him out and told him it was price gouging and to leave my house. I called to complain at their main office and was told they would bring up my concerns with management. The guy who showed up at my house called me about ten minutes later and relayed he spoke with his boss and could drop the price to $600. I said absolutely not and sought other options. Within two hours another plumber showed up and completed the job in less than an hour for $275. A $525 difference. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour on this company’s end. Shame on you. UPDATE: I received multiple calls from their manager Danikko and an email, tripling down on trying to trying to justify their insane pricing. He also requested I delete my review since we had a difference of opinion. Absolutely zero chance of that happening and a complaint has been lodged with the Better Business Bureau. I’ll also point out that the honest plumber who did the work asked what company gave me the ludicrous quote of $800. When I informed him it was Mr. Rooter, he responded my first mistake was contacting them in the first place. Apparently they have a known reputation for price gouging and telling you that work needs to be done when it doesn’t.
Jeremey and Mike were incredibly helpful from diagnosis of the issue, through getting permits, aligning on the work and finally getting it done. Jeremy was very communicative throughout the process and very helpful in decision making and weighing pros/cons of different solutions. Mike did incredible plumbing work and was extremely professional and accommodating to our family in what was a major job. Not only did they get the work done as promised and on budget, but they also helped coordinate with my contractor to gain alignment so that he would be set up for success once their work was finished. I would absolutely and without hesitation recommend these guys to anyone needing help weigh their plumbing needs. Thanks so much guys!
Curtis was highly recommended to me by a knowledgeable neighbour. We live in a flood risk area. Curtis planned my plumbing project in a methodical and professional manner. He explained all aspects of what I needed clearly and answered all questions readily and honestly. Curtis’ project team included Ryan S, Wyatt and Riley. All three were professional, knowledgeable and hard workers. I was impressed with the care they showed for our property and kept everything neat and tidy. They were always cheerful and pleased to answer my questions as they updated me on the progress. They were also kind to our dogs. Greg worked with Curtis to solve more complex issues given the nature of my existing plumbing and landscape layout. Both know their stuff. I would confidently recommend Mr Rooter (Ottawa) to my friends and neighbours. Very happy with the finished result!
Our experience with Mike and Kevin was excellent! They communicated everything they were working on as well as showing us the issues we had with the old pipe that they removed. Also so much rock and debris removed but in a day they were able to fix everything! There was tiles that were removed where the issue was so they secured wood around the pipe we have now that was covered before. We asked that we continue with Mr.Rooter to complete the renovation with tiles as well! We definitely will recommend Mr Rooter THANKYOU it was worth every Penny !
Mr. Rooter service was outstanding. I highly recommend this company. I called their number and immediately an assistant answered the phone (no need to leave a voice message like other companies). The assistant found a same day spot to provide service and a technician Ryan S called me shortly to provide a time for the visit. Although he stated a 4 hr time frame, he sent me a message shortly after that he was on his way. This message had his picture and the information from the company, so this was very reassuring. I really liked this feature, gives much more confidence. Ryan looked at the issues with the house and immediately called let me know about next steps. He sent me an email as well with all the details. He was very clear. He sent me the quote and the next steps were super clear and easy. I received also a call shortly after from the quality assurance team to hear from me and if I was satisfied with their service. I really appreciated this call. I had used Mr. Rooter services in the past and although their service in the past was also great, I felt they really improved their customer service. Excellent job! Congratulations!
